The entire menu can be scanned by just paging down from here. You can get back to the menu with the (TOC jump}s.
THE NEUTRON NOISE WEB is being started at the University of Massachusetts Lowell because of my long term interest in this field and the current general lack of a single unified place to obtain access to the extensive history and data sources on this important nuclear engineering topic.

Where it all began, well maybe not quite, how about some history from the
early European work on fission. Send me something and I will post it.
We are here for what ever it is that YOU, the important workers in this field desire. I have some ideas as starters and they are already in the Neutron Noise Web, but those are just for starters. You tell me what you want and what is good and/or not so good about what we have. Most importantly, Contribute and do it electronically to make it easy on all of us.
The current ideas include but are not limited to the following:
YES this is a PAGE devoted to a rather technical topic, ......BUT for YOU: The WEB wanderer, we hope to have some interesting things to help you appreciate what this topic is all about. And if you got to this point in this page, it is because you are paging up and down in this file. The real section has been moved and you can Jump there NOW! if you would like to.
I have now expanded the scope of this section to also include new things added to
A first item under the "Current Activities" section must be the announcement for the Meeting on Diagnostic Systems in Nuclear Power Plants. AND, this year, I am getting this up much sooner than I have in the past, but it remains a very busy time while trying to get
I had planned to explore around and find a few more current activities, but
I have done the exploring but not the follow through.
For those who do, I still promise that I will get them posted promptly. Thanks for your help.
This last year, I did manage to get up an improved "guest book". You can now give me on-line all of the information I post in the "interested individuals" section.
I hope this coming year to get more and more current information in the bibliography section. I did get a few comments on that need, but I did not get any ready to go help. I will try to get some going this year.
I had hoped to come to IMORN 27, but it will not happen. I will post any words sent to me by E_Mail on the meeting and I promise to try harder for next year.
If you want information on last years meeting, I have left posted what was up for the IMORN-27 meeting I am also leaving the "jumps" to the various meeting leaders in the "interested individuals" section.
If you want information on the one before that, I have left posted what was up for the IMORN-26 meeting I am also leaving the "jumps" to the various meeting leaders in the "interested individuals" section.
A new Milestone was made on April 22, 1996. The
"Interested Individuals List" is
I have added also the names from Ing. Hans Verhoef's Newsgroup. The only detail from that source is the E_mail address. I hope to contact all and request additional information if they choose to be listed.
Those that I was not absolutely sure of country of origin are listed at the end. They will be moved when the courtry is determined. Some appear obvious, but we will wait rather than do the wrong thing.
As a starting point for generating a list of "Interested Individuals List", I had taken the "Attendees List" made available at the IMORN - 25 meeting at North Carolina State University, hosted by their Nuclear Engineering Department.
I presume, I will drop it soon in favor of either the SMORN meeting list if some would be so kind as to send it to me. I have just posted information on The IMORN-27 meeting and maybe soon I will be able to post the pre conference list.
Mean while, lets all make the "Interested Individuals List" continue to grow longer by your additions made through Email and other routes.
I still hope to have an OnLine register section before the summer is over. The University is running very slowly on their efforts to provide us with the necessary "host" support for on line registries. Soon though you will be able to express your desires online.
I imagine, that for whatever reason, there will be someone out there who I have listed who would rather not be listed. Send me a Email and I will happily let you disappear back into solitude with my apologies for having not ask before posting the list.
What GIF? I found none that seemed truly appropriate for the NEUTRON NOISE WEB. Sooooo.... A contest seems needed.
When I could not find any that seemed just right, I fell back on two of my favorites, Mickey Mouse and Snoopy the Peanuts dog. But these are almost certainly inappropriate because Walt Disney or his pretenders and Charley Shultz would not feel it was OK. I then hit upon the "flag" but that is not really great for an international group.
A contest fell into place, but lets make it a two way contest. Each of you has your favorite flag GIF. Send it to me and we will make flags the mast heads for each country in the "Interested Individuals List" section.
Secondly, send me a GIF you feel is just right for the NEUTRON NOISE WEB.
In all of these years of neglect, I do not think I got any. Well I still have the coffee cups.
We will find a few prizes for the best ones. What? Well maybe a new coffee cup for
your collection. It could be a lowly UMass one or if your really lucky,
I still have a few left over from a
All I see is english? True because I really have trouble dealing with those several languages that I have studied. But that does not mean that other languages are not desired, sought, appreciated, or posted. If you send me good stuff in any language it will get posted.
Indeed, if you see something here that you like or motivates you, translate it and Email it to me. I will post any piece or indeed all of the material in any language available with "hot links" for picking whatever most suits you or your regional desires or needs. The ease of this approach is a feature of the World Wide WEB.
We now have a truely useful Guest Book after a year of trials and the lack of time to fight my way through just how to do it.
And then it died. We now have a new approach and have it as a draft on the opening page. It is not great and keep everyone's comments public. It may be the best mr gates can do, but I intend on trying to fix it soon. June 26, 2005
The Guest Book is organized around the information listed in the Interested Individuals section. You may give me all of it, just your name, or anything in between. Indeed if you have comments and do not want to be listed at all, say as much in the comments section and it will happen.
For those who hope to do similar that are having troubles, send me an E_mail. We are now on the "UNIX box" which still remains almost the only way to do these things on our campus at least. If you will note are main screen, you will see we have JAVA up and running. It may take Netscape 3.03. I may post it if I can legally do it.
The week or so has become a year or so, but we now have that out of the way Also, you can still use Email, if it is easier ..... etc.
Yes you are more than WELCOME to establish an active link with
Once you have the file, All you have to do is put it into the directory with your own html file: the one that you want to refer to THE NEUTRON NOISE WEB. Secondly, put into your html file a link to the downloaded file. Then, Upon user choice, the person will jump from your file to the new down loaded one and thence to THE NEUTRON NOISE WEB after so choosing.
After the JUMP, save the file you are in.
Take me back to the start.
